Shihan Manolo Serrano :

After having always worked out and being particularly interested in martial arts, he practises for many years several martial arts like Judo, Karate, Kung Fu, Aikido, Jujutsu and Kenpo Karate.

In 1989 he comes in contact with Ninpô Taijutsu of Bujinkan, which is a revelation to him. In 1993 he takes part in his first Taikai with Sensei Hatsumi and throughout the 90s he takes part in almost all the Taikai held in Europe.

In 1993, during the first Taikai, he meets Arnaud Cousergue (SHIHAN of BUJINKAN DOJO in France) thanks to Patrick Cop (Belgium instructor). He has been Arnaud’s student ever since.

He also trains with other Shihan like Sveneric Bogsäter (Holland), Pedro Fleitas Gonzales (Spain), Peter King (England)…

In 1997, accompanied by his teacher Arnaud Cousergue, he takes his first trip to Japan to learn directly from Hatsumi Sensei and the Japanese Shihan.

In 2002, during the Daikomyosai in Japan, Hatsumi Sensei gives him the Sakki Test, which he passes successfully.

In March 2003 he founds the Bujinkan Dojo Ieper in Belgium.

In March 2006 he marries Estelle Padeloup, Bujinkan Shidoshi and instructor in Louviers, France.

In December 2006, during the Daikomyosai in Japan, Shihan Arnaud Cousergue recommends him for the  Tenth Dan, with the approval of Nagato Sensei, Noguchi Sensei, Shihan Pedro Fleitas and Shihan Juan Manuel Serrano.

In 2007 he and his wife decide to leave France for Quebec, Canada, to start a new life. They arrive in August, 2007 and start a new dôjô the same year, in September. And in Japan, in April 2007 he obtains his 11th Dan.

In Decemder 2007, during Sensei's class in Japan, Hatsumi Sensei gives him his 12th Dan.

In November 2008 after his teacher Arnaud Cousergue asked Hatsumi Sensei for his 13th Dan, Sensei approved.

In December 2009 after his teacher Arnaud Cousergue asked Hatsumi Sensei for his 14th Dan, Sensei approved.

Today I take part in as many seminars as possible and I go to Japan at least once a year to improve my knowledge of Hatsumi Sensei’s art of Bujinkan Dôjô.
